Manuel Vason
Manuel Vason work may be described in between photography and performance. He learned his skills assisting as freelancer some of the most important fashion photographers of his generation from Helmut Newton to Nick Knight, from Paolo Roversi to Peter Lindbergh.
Graduated from the Central Saint Martins School, Manuel considers photography as a pure collaborative practice, a sort of exchange with the subject, a contract of trust and mutual respect.
Since 1999 Manuel Vason has produced five books and his work has been published on L’Uomo Vogue, ID, Dazed and Confused, Flash Art, Art Review, Frieze, Art Forum, Contemporary, Tate Magazine and has been exhibited at Tate Liverpool, ICA London, Whitechapel Gallery London, Tramway Gallery Glasgow, Arnolfini Gallery Bristol, A Foundation Liverpool, Centre d’Art Contemporain Geneva, VB Museum (Finland), Museo delle Papesse (Italy).
